AIG Information Fair

Posted Date: 01/14/26 (05:45 PM)

Dear Parents and Families,

You’re invited to attend our AIG Information Fair on Monday, February 16 from 5:00–7:00 PM at Mooresville Middle School.

Who is invited:
AIG parents of students in grades K–12 and students rising 6th grade and up

What to expect:

5:00–5:30 | Enrichment Showcase
Explore a variety of school and community groups that support gifted learners. This informal, self-paced experience—similar to a modern science fair—allows families to ask questions, learn about opportunities, and gather resources to take home.

5:40–6:20 | Spotlight Talk with Dr. Richard Courtright
Enjoy pizza while hearing from Dr. Courtright, a longtime gifted education expert, as he shares insights on where gifted education has been, where it is now, and where it’s headed. Pizza and water will be provided for families. **Read Dr. Courtright's Bio here.

6:25–6:55 | Pathways for Gifted Learners Sessions
Families may choose from one of eight sit-down sessions, each including time for Q&A:

  • Navigating Twice Exceptionality
  • Multipotentiality: Being GREAT at Many Things — How Do You Choose?
  • AIG Identification and Service Models in MGSD
  • High School Student Panel
  • Iredell Ready: Jobs in Iredell County
  • Career and Technical Education
  • Choosing Rigorous Classes
  • Preparing for College

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of learning, conversation, and connection as we partner together to support our gifted learners.  If you have any questions, you can email Ms. Amy Smith (K-5) at amysmith@mgsd.k12.nc.us or Ms. Maureen Fitzsimmons (6-12) at maureenfitzsimmons@mgsd.k12.nc.us.

We look forward to seeing you there!
